Different Sections to fill the German National Visa Application Form

Section 1: Information on the applicant (Angaben zum Antragsteller/zur Antragstellerin)

The first section of the German National Application Form is to fill the Information on the applicant. Keep in mind that you need to fill the form as per the details are given in the passport and need to be filled correctly. Take care while filling the first and last name, it should match with your documents.

Section 2: Information on the applicant’s spouse/registered partner (Angaben zur Ehegattin/zum Ehegatten/zur Lebenspartnerin/zum Lebenspartner)

This section is for if you are not single. Fill the details of your spouse/registered partner

Section 3: Information on the applicant’s children (Angaben zu Kindernder Antragstellerin/des Antragstellers)

Fill up the details of your children also give the details of the children are above 18 years of age.

Section 4: Information on the applicant’s parents (Angaben zuden Eltern der Antragstellerin/des Antragstellers)

Fill up the details of your parents such as Surname, first name, date and place of birth, nationality and place of residence.

Section 5: [If Applicable] Have you ever been to Germany before? (Haben Sie sich bereits früher inder BundesrepublikDeutschland aufgehalten?)

If you have been Germany before, please provide the details regarding for same or else right mark on NO.

Section 6: Intended place of stay in Germany (Vorgesehener Aufenthaltsort in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland)

Mostly, students prefer single room, hostel or shared apartment. Provide the details given in the accommodation contract. If you don’t have confirmed accommodation agreement (applies to most students) then provide intended place of stay in Germany (eg. student hostel, room.)

Section 7: Do you intend to maintain your permanent residence outside the Federal Republic of Germany? (Wird ständiger Wohnort außerhalb der Bundesrepublik Deutschland beibehalten?)

Yes, since you will be maintaining your permanent residence at your home country. Fill in your home address.

Section 8: Do family members intend to accompany you? (Sollen Familienangehörige mit einreisen?)

Fill up the details of your family members are accompanying you or else right mark on NO.

Section 9: Purpose of stay in the Federal Republic of Germany (Zweck des Aufenthalts in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland)

Since your are going for study purpose, check STUDY, or your purpose of stay is different then answer accordingly. Most importantly here is DO NOT check on “I intend to stay no longer than twelve months in the Federal territory and apply for a visa that covers the whole duration of my stay” because you will be staying for a minimum of 18 months to finish your master’s program.

Section 10: References in the Federal Republic of Germany (Referenzenin der Bundesrepublik Deutschland)

Provide the details of your personal references in Germany, if you don’t have any personal references in Germany then provide the details of your university.

Section 11: Trade or profession for which you trained and, if different, your current trade or profession (Erlernterund (sofern abweichend)ausgeübterBeruf)

Provide the details of your trade or profession, if different then your current profession details (eg. Engineer, Doctor).

Section 12: Intended duration of stay in Germany (Beabsichtigte Dauer des Aufenthalts in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland)

Provide the details of your intended duration of stay in Germany i.e from and to date details.

Section 13: What are your means of subsistence? (Aus welchen Mitteln wird der Lebensunterhalt bestritten?)

Provide the details of your funding. How your going to support yourself in Germany (eg. blocked account, scholarship, or family support) and also provide the details of your health insurance. Mark YES, if you have health insurance.

Section 14: Have you ever been convicted? (Sind Sie vorbestraft?)

Provide the details if you ever been convicted from Germany

Section 15: Have you ever been expelled or deported from the Federal Republic of Germany?

Provide the details if you ever been expelled or deported from the Germany

Section 16: Do you suffer from any of the diseases mentioned below?

Pocken, Poliomyelitis, beim Menschen nicht verbreitete Influenzatypen (z. B. “Vogelgrippe”, “Schweinegrippe”), Influenza im Falle einer akuten Pandemie, schweres akutes Atemwegssyndrom (SARS), Cholera, Lungenpest, Gelbfieber sowie virale hämorrhagische Fieber (z. B. Ebola, Lassa, Marburg).

Smallpox, poliomyelitis, types of influenza not common in humans (e.g. bird flu, swine flu), acute pandemic influenza, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), cholera, pneumonic plague, yellow fever, viral haemorrhagic fever (e.g. Ebola, Lassa, Marburg).

Lastly, fill up place and date and do the signature (for minors, parental authority or legal guardian)

Financial Proof for Visa:

Which documents do you need to show as a financial proof?

• 100 Rs Stamp paper with green colored continuation sheet for affidavit from your sponsor.
• Bank statement and payslips of your sponsor for the last three months.
• If you’re still working, then your payslips + bank statement as well (3 months)
• If your University has tuition fees, the receipt of payment of that as well as the semester fees. Actually you can pay them together as well if that is mentioned in your University documents. If not, pay separately and keep both receipts.
