Babbel – It features a very slick and streamlined design where users of Google services will feel right at home. In addition to its professional look, it is also very lightweight, making it one of the fastest apps on this list.

iStart German is much recommended for beginners in the German language. The app’s content is presented in a form that looks a lot like a chat and taught by two German native speakers and a moderator hailing from England.
