QIOZ – An online digital platform to learn french, germany, spanish, and english

QIOZ is a multi-language learning platform commissioned by the Ile-de-France Regional Council and available to everyone in the Paris area.

The platform offers content and activities for learners at all fluency levels as defined in the Council of Europe’s CEFR competence framework.

QIOZ gives you the opportunity to learn, or become more fluent in, English, French, Spanish and German. It features a new learning approach based on real-life language from your favourite films, from specially developed animated videos, and from videos made by Youtubers. Each video is followed by exercises to test your written and oral comprehension.

Designed to meet the needs of everyone living in the Paris area, QIOZ allows you to learn key expressions used in day-to-day situations, with a range of specially designed activities to help you.

But that’s not all! QIOZ also has useful modules to help you learn essential expressions relating to selected themes such as travel, looking for a job, preparing for an interview, and so on.

QIOZ – Learning in tune with the times

Available online on a computer, smartphone or tablet, this innovative and intuitive platform is aimed at over 15s and promotes fun learning. Qioz is thus based on more than 1,500 varied multimedia contents, including documentaries , extracts from films and television series, and music videos. To use it, no minimum level is required. Beginners or experienced are then invited to practice a language, over two years (from the activation of the account), thanks to a “tailor-made” program, in order to perfect, improve or develop their language skills.

The principle is quite simple. Each user will be asked, after registering, to take a language test, in the one chosen, to assess their level. Three areas of interest will then be chosen by the user, for example, cinema, sport , the arts. The user will finally be offered in the form of games, according to his objectives, specific modules by the “virtual coach”, a little blue bulldog. For a certain follow-up, level tests will be presented to him regularly in order to note his progress and validate his acquired skills according to the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

For learning at any time, in any situation and at any time of the day, the platform will be available, in a downloadable version, this summer.
